I have always had something of Japan somewhere about me as I was growing up.  From my mother’s prayer drum and Shiromuku doll that I never got the chance to ask her where she got them from, to my first penpal in 3rd grade, to a friend met through work who loaned me her jpop cd collection, all the way through to today.  So many years to get to know this fascinating culture.

I fell completely and irrevocably in love with the kimono as a fashion years ago (surprisingly not at first as I was more deeply involved in Cosplay and Lolita fashion) and today I am not only finally achieving my dream of taking kimono kitsuke classes, but I am working towards my instructor certification as well.

Who knows what I will learn tomorrow.
